Host an Event

By hosting a fundraising event you can have a great time with your friends and coworkers and make a big difference in the lives of students studying science in developing coutries.

Delivery of science education to the students of developing countries is one of the best ways to alleviate poverty and foster development.

Some ideas for fundraising events:

  • Casino nights
  • Themed dinner parties
  • Dances
  • Auctions
  • Singles events

Consider partnering with your favorite restaurant or local bar. Many times they will bend over backwards to work with groups who want to have parties on a normally slow nights.

The goal might be as modest as collecting enough for basic supplies (about $200),  the full development and publishing of a first edition science book ($7,000), up to supporting the creation of a new science center ($25,000+).

Village Science can help with evites and invitations. We have promotional materials about the organization and what a difference the donation will make.

Dinner Party

This is the easiest for most people. If you have a good sized home to host it in (or even an apartment if you don’t mind being cozy) you can host a fundraising party in your home. It’s no different from having a big birthday party except that along with encouraging your guests to bring food and drinks you have a suggested donation amount and you set a fundraising goal for the night.
